Catalytically active palladium pyridylidene complexes: pyridinium ionic liquids as N-heterocyclic carbene precursors.

چکیده
Pyridinium salts similar to those used as ionic liquid solvents readily undergo palladation in the presence of a base, thus giving palladium-pyridylidene N-heterocyclic carbene complexes that are active catalysts for Suzuki-type cross-coupling reactions.

A simple, general route to 2-pyridylidene transition metal complexes.
Pyridinium 2-carboxylates decompose thermally in the presence of a variety of late transition metal precursors to yield the corresponding 2-pyridylidene-like complexes. The mild reaction conditions and structural diversity that can be generated in the heterocyclic ring make this method an attractive alternative for the synthesis of 2-pyridylidene complexes. IR spectra of the Ir(i) carbonyl comp...
متن کاملMild and rational synthesis of palladium complexes comprising C(4)-bound N-heterocyclic carbenes.
Oxidative addition of pyridyl-functionalised 4-iodoimidazolium salts to palladium(0) gives catalytically active complexes in which the N-heterocyclic carbene is bound to the palladium(II) centre in a non-classical bonding mode via C(4).
متن کاملCopper N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes as carbene transfer reagents.
A method is described that makes use of easily prepared, inexpensive copper synthons as N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) transfer agents to generate catalytically relevant gold and palladium complexes.
متن کاملPyridinium based ionic liquids as promoters for a green and selective synthesis of N-monomethylanilines
Pyridinium based ionic liquids derived from β-picoline and n-alkylbromides were synthesized by a simple procedure at ambient temperature and then characterized. These neutral ionic liquids were investigated for their dual role as the solvent and promoter for the selective synthesis of a series of N-monomethylanilines using dimethylcarbonate as the methylating agent. A solvent free gree...
متن کاملSolvent-dependent switch of ligand donor ability and catalytic activity of ruthenium(II) complexes containing pyridinylidene amide (PYA) N-heterocyclic carbene hybrid ligands.
Chelating ligands incorporating both N-[1-alkylpyridin-4(1H)-ylidene]amide (PYA) and N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) donor sites were prepared and used for the synthesis of ruthenium(II) complexes. Cyclic voltammetry, NMR, and UV-vis spectroscopy of the complexes indicate a solvent-dependent contribution of the limiting resonance structures associated with the ligand in solution. The neutral pyrid...
